You may have heard news stories and testimonials referring to Phorm’s buttons as magic or wizardry. We don’t mean to shatter the illusion but there’s actually a method behind the magic! Our screen protector panel includes microfluidic technology and is currently being produced at our manufacturing partner Wistron’s state of the art fabrication facility.
Our partner, and strategic investor in Phorm’s parent company Tactus Technology, employs over 60,000 people in its R&D, service and manufacturing centers. Facility locations span across Taiwan, China, Mexico, Czech Republic, US and more. All locations are strategically placed for utilizing resources specific to each country and to support companies’ product/material needs.
The facility that will make Phorm’s morphing touch screen is roughly 180,000 sq. ft. with specialized equipment ready to manufacture the microfluidic panels. We have perfected every aspect of developing our panel with them from concept design, to prototyping of working samples and then structural design/ testing, ensuring our microfluidic panels are always made for your favorite and most relevant mobile devices. We have been working together to consider and overcome all challenges of material, functionality, and volume of manufacturing.
If you still aren’t impressed by this facility, it currently manufactures and assembles cover lenses (the glass that is on the front of every phone, tablet and computer), touch sensors and LCD panels for leading product companies. Their client base includes internationally recognized, primarily computer related, brands and they were most recently mentioned as one of Apple’s suppliers.
