We are thrilled to have got 200 pre-production units in both color options, Slate and Sky gray, from our first major tooling run at our manufacturing partner’s facility. Tooling refers to the process of creating the machinery and manufacturing components needed for mass production of Phorm parts. This is an extremely important (and exciting) step because having proper tooling affects our capacity, quality and price. All of which impacts YOUR satisfaction with Phorm.
Having these units not only means there is machinery to mold Phorm but that the design meets our standard of quality. Now that this process is complete we can continue on to beta testing, final reliability testing and color/material/finish validation.
We are eager for everyone to try Phorm and to hear what they think about it. We have already started to seek the public’s opinion by working heavily on UX (user experience) with testing facilities. Our future UX plans, involving the tooling units, include internal testing with family members/friends along with event demonstrations at local (bay area) events.
Within our labs we will use them to conduct extensive scratch, drop, bend and lifetime testing. These cases are about to endure razor blades to the buttons and sandpaper to the paint. We will perform lifetime tests like actuations of the slider and button presses. They will also be dropped to the ground with considerable force. Repeatedly. All of this is to ensure your lifetime of satisfaction with Phorm.
